Hello ,
Im working on a procedure for doing "bare metal restore" of our Solaris boxes.
I want to do this via a bootable CD that has Veritas Netbackup client on it .
I found this article and followed it to the letter. I was able to make a
bootable CD with the Solaris 10 install CDs ..but when i try it with the
Solaris 9 CDs (software 1 of 2 ) it will not boot from the CD.
this is what i get for an error from the solaris 9 bootable cd that i created
Rebooting with command: boot cdrom -sw
Boot device: /pci@1e,600000/ide@d/cdrom@0,0:f File and args: -sw
boot: cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix
Enter filename [kernel/sparcv9/unix]:
im using the following URL from Bigadmins site
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/submitted/recovery_cd.html
Why wont this procedure work with solaris 9 CD's but works with Solaris 10 Cds ?
any help is greatly appreciated
thank you
