backup takes 45hours

hello all,

i restored a database on friday afternoon. it took about 2 hours (45
gb database which means about 20gb/hour thruput).

I then started the backup late friday and it ran into sunday. thruput
about 1gb/hr.

I am using solaris 9 (9/04) with EMC/DELL SAN cx300 for the database and
commvault systems GALAXY backup system 5.9.

The backup job did complete with no errors...just took longer than i
thought :-)

Some Observations:

1. Commvault's support person mentioned about network card being
misconfigured for half duplex.

OR

2. SAN connection being misconfigured for half duplex.

any other thoughts from the forum are highly valued.
