Netra T1 105 won't power off

Fellow managers:

It's been a while since I was asking a qeustion rather than answering, but
here goes.

My employer recently purchased 6 used Netra T1 105's for some light-duty
infrastructure work (DNS specifically), and one of them is acting a little...
wonky?

Basically, this one crazy machine won't power off. As soon as the AC power is
connected, it powers up. The other 5 all require you to flip the power switch
or enter "poweron" at the LOM> prompt. None of the usual methods, including
"power-off" at the OK prompt, "poweroff" at the LOM> prompt, or "init 5" from
a running OS will shut this machine down. All of those actions just leave the
machine sitting at the OK or LOM> prompt. The only exception is that if I
connect the AC power, then immediately flip the power switch to "off" before
the machine POSTs, it will switch off and stay off. At that point, it behaves
like the others, needing a flip of the switch or a "poweron" to get it
started. But once POST starts, it's stuck ON for good. The only way to power
the machine off after that is to pull the power cord.

Now, my first reaction is that the machine (or maybe just the power supply?)
is broken/defective in some way, and that it should just be replaced with one
that doesn't behave this way, but since everything else about the system is
100% functional, I'm not so sure. I'm willing to entertain the possibility
that there's some strange configuration (a jumper inside? an nvram setting?)
somewhere that would make the machine behave this way. So before I go sending
this machine back for replacement, I figured I'd ask the managers: Is this
something any of you have seen before? Is the hardware really defective, or
is this some obscure setting/configuration issue I'm not familiar with? All
six systems are on the same (and latest) OpenBoot and LOM firmware, and all
have had a "set-defaults" done to them. docs.sun.com didn't have anything
that seemed helpful.

I welcome any input, and I'll summarize when it's all over.
