V240 ALOM Break

Dear Sun gurus,

I have a V240 running Solaris 9 and ALOM 1.5.

I have setup ALOM so that I can telnet into it via ethernet and issue
commands such as reset. Unfortunately when I issue a break command it
tells me it is sending the host a break but actually does nothing.
The same is true of going into the console mode - it tells me it is
already in console mode but I can do nothing and do not get a prompt.
I have tried re-directing all console i/o to ttya as per the ALOM
manual but now when I issue a break the machine stops but there is no
prompt and no output text on the telnet console. I cannot get the
V240 going again without restarting it as it does not take any input
from the telnet console. I have followed all the instructions in the
Sun ALOM Online Help document but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone set this up succesfully? Am I not doing something I
should? I want to be able to issue a break and control the OBP
remotely over ethernet.

Thank you for reading all this.
