Solaris 10 x86 not booting after pkgrm-ing FiberChannel packages.

Sun Managers,

I'm running Solaris 10 x86 01/06 on an old Compaq DeskPro 500 (with no FC
devices)

After removing the following packages
SUNWqlc Qlogic ISP 2200/2202 Fibre Channel Device Driver
        SUNWfcsm FCSM driver
SUNWfcip Sun FCIP IP/ARP over FibreChannel Device Driver
SUNWfcp Sun FCP SCSI Device Driver
SUNWfcmdb Fibre Channel adb macros and mdb modules
SUNWfctl Sun Fibre Channel Transport layer

and trying to reboot, the system loops rebooting.
If I boot in failsafe mode and mount the /var filesystem, all I can see in
/var/adm/messages is:

Acpica: WARNING: AcpiOsWritePort: 70 8 not permitted

Any idea how to get this fixed (possibly without having to reinstall those
packages)?

Thanks in advance

Loris
