find cannot open directory

Dear Sunmanagers,

I've a machine running Solaris 9. I encountered the
following problem which the find command giving
permission denied error.

bash-2.05$ ls -al
total 8
drwxrwxrwx 3 ops staff 512 Mar 10 09:57 .
drwxrwxr-x 8 root root 512 Mar 10 10:24
..
drwxrwxr-x 15 ops staff 512 Jan 9 17:06
REPORT
-rwxrwxr-x 1 ops staff 242 Mar 09 13:35
start.sh

bash-2.05$ find . -type d -print
find: cannot open .: Permission denied
bash-2.05$ id
uid=105(ops) gid=10(staff)
  

Would appreciate if someone can shed some light on
this. TIA.
