Hi!
I'm running on Solaris 9, Sun Cluster 3.1 (emanode-a and emanode-b) with one
StorEdge (external disk). The two StorEdge disks have the following
partitions:
Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
0 usr wm 3 - 51197 99.99GB (51195/0/0) 209694720
1 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
2 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
6 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
7 usr wu 0 - 2 6.00MB (3/0/0) 12288
Then, a diskset, metadevices and soft partitions have created:
sogds/d155: Soft Partition
Device: sogds/d160
State: Okay
Size: 20971520 blocks (10 GB)
Extent Start Block Block count
0 104857602 20971520
sogds/d160: Mirror
Submirror 0: sogds/d161
State: Okay
Submirror 1: sogds/d162
State: Resyncing
Resync in progress: 95 % done
Pass: 1
Read option: roundrobin (default)
Write option: parallel (default)
Size: 209694720 blocks (99 GB)
sogds/d161: Submirror of sogds/d160
State: Okay
Size: 209694720 blocks (99 GB)
Stripe 0:
Device Start Block Dbase State Reloc Hot Spare
d6s0 0 No Okay No
sogds/d162: Submirror of sogds/d160
State: Resyncing
Size: 209694720 blocks (99 GB)
Stripe 0:
Device Start Block Dbase State Reloc Hot Spare

sogds/d154: Soft Partition
Device: sogds/d160
State: Okay
Size: 104857600 blocks (50 GB)
Extent Start Block Block count
0 1 104857600
Now the problem is I want to modify the size of the partition 7 from 6.0MB
to 256MB.
Can I modify the partition size directly using format command without
affecting the Sun Cluster and the metadevices?
Or I have to remove the metadevices/soft partitions, modify the partition
and re-create the metadevices/soft partition again?
