All,

I am currently having a problem where I am unable to start an xsession. Let
me give you all the information. Yesterday a co-worker was messing around
with deleting java from the workstation. He then used pkgrm to delete the
java package and he removed some language support packages as well. Then
after logging out it could not start the xsession again. Then after that we
restored using legato from the last time that the full backups were done.
This was saturday. Then after the restore the problem still exists. I have
tried stopping and restarting /etc/init.d/dtlogin stop and start. I have
tried deleting the .dt and .dtprofile files and then logging back in to
recreate them. I do not see any errors from dmesg. The errors that I am
receiving in /var/dt/Xerrors is
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

Error (pid 700): Server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly 1

Error (pid 700): Server for display :0 can't be started.

I don't believe that it is a software issue since we did a full system
restore. This should have corrected any package or software errors on the
system. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason Polachak
