SUMMARY: Implement TLS on sendmail

Hello:

To implement TLS on sendmail on a Solaris 9 host, I installed the following packages:
Sendmail 8.13.5 source, gcc, Berkley DB, libiconv, OpenSSL, and SASL.
While generating certificate, I did not use the CA.sh scripts which comes with OpenSSL. Instead, I issued openssl command to generate keys.

I do not know whether Berkley DB or SASL are required; after many unsuccessful tries until I abandoned CA.sh and installed Berkley DB and SASL, the STARTTLS shows up.

Thanks.
Warren
