SCSI errors -Help Please!!

On our email/webserver I'm constantly getting the following messages
(below) on /var/adm/messages.
This is causing daemons to quit and the server to pretty much halt.
I've rebooted several times, checked cables, (on 4 18gb disk backplane
and 8 18 gb backplane), but messages continue. I get errors on
sendmail, when trying to write to /var/spool/mqueue. This is the boot
disk, but I must say that I have already lost most of the disks on the
4 disk back plane (only the boot disk remains)...A while ago I also
lost one of the disks on the 8 disk backplane with similar errors (it
was just a backup disk so I removed it). Iostat -En shows hard errors
and also transport errors for the boot disk. This is one of our very
critical servers....any help/suggestions would be GREATLY
appreciated....Thanks....Oh, I forgot to mention that I have already
tried to entering set scsi_options=0x3f8 in /etc/system (and
rebooting).
