Dear managers,
I am trying to install Solaris on a E3500 server using my
jumpstart server (in different subnet). I have setup the boot server in the
same subnet and added this client info on the boot server. But while giving
command "boot net" is asking for kernel file name. I dont have clue what
exactly went wrong in boot server.
I have made entries in /etc/ethers and
/etc/vfstab file as well. I have checked the dfstab file and it has following
entry:
root@boot_server # cat /etc/dfs/dfstab | grep -i jump
share -F nfs -o
ro,anon=0 /usr/local/jumpstart_boot/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot
When I added the
client using add_install_client, it did not show any error:
root@boot_server
# ./add_install_client -s install_server:/jumpstart/install/solaris9
client_name sun4u
saving original /etc/dfs/dfstab in /etc/dfs/dfstab.orig
Adding "share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0
/usr/local/jumpstart_boot/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot" to /etc/dfs/dfstab
share_nfs:
/usr/local/jumpstart_boot/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot: parent-directory
(/usr/local/jumpstart_boot) already shared
cleaning up preexisting install
client "client_name"
removing client_name from bootparams
removing
/etc/bootparams, since it is empty
removing
/tftpboot/inetboot.SUN4U.Solaris_9-1
updating /etc/bootparams
copying inetboot
to /tftpboot
At client side:
{a} ok boot net
Boot device:
/sbus@3,0/SUNW,hme@3,8c00000 File and args:
