Hello Managers

  Thanks for the responses from Brad Morrison,Tino Dai,David Foster,Bill R.Williams,Catlin Brian,Ashish Achuthan,Hudes Dana,Mouline Kamal,Francisco,David,Breneman,Hutin Bertrand andThad MacMillan.Various recommendations are for Cygwin,Hummingbird,VNC,Knoppix andStarnet.

Followed the links given by Francisco.
  http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/cygwin-x-ug.html
  http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ug/using-remote-apps.html

Installed Cygwin on my laptop and set DISPLAY as ***.**.**.**:0.0 on the remote server. Connected to that remote server from Cygwin's screen using ssh and started xterm using xterm and xterm&. At every instant exit status (echo $?) has been confirmed as 0.Verified and found that xterm is running on the remote server and no GUI on my laptop. Any clues?

  Thanks in advance.

Hi Managers

We have a bunch of servers at a remote location and login to them using laptops (XP).They are a mix of Solaris and Red Hat. My question is how to get the GUI of these servers on my laptop? I tried with Hummingbird,VNC etc and could not finish the process. I am sorry to say that I am not a Solaris guru and needs minute details if possible.Pl let me know if you have any useful tools which are easy to install and configure with detailed step-by-step documentation.

I sincerely appreciate your help and will summarize. Thanks in advance.

  Rob
