Hello List,

I have recently installed VxVM 4.1 on a V880 running Sol10. When the
installer attempts to patch the packages it installs it encounters a
problem and the install exits. Here is the error output from the log...

# cat /var/sadm/patch/115209-16/log
pkgadd: ERROR: The package <VRTSob> is currently installed on the
system in the global zone. To install the new instance of this package
in the
global zone only, you must specify the -G option. To install the new
instance
of this package in all zones you must first run pkgadd on the current
package
with the -Z option so that the existing instance of this package is
installed
in all zones first. You may optionally remove the existing instance of
this
package from the global zone first (via pkgrm) and then install the new
instance of this package in all zones.
pkgadd: ERROR: package <VRTSob> cannot be installed on this system/zone

I have not created any zones and the man pages for pkgadd and patchadd
do not mention of a "-G" option.

Has anyone seen this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Vic Engle
