Solaris 10 Patching problem

I tried installing Solaris 10 on a SPARC, and it won't boot after applying
various patches.
    strplumb: can't install module drv/dld, err -1

I see several references in this forum to x86 CDROM devices or to the
swapping of hardware, but neither of these fits my situation. In my
situation, I installed Solaris 10 on a SPARC, and then tried installing all
available patches.

I believe I have narrowed it down to one of the following patches based on
comparing one system that worked vs. a system that failed.

117461-08
118371-06
119374-10
119557-07
119715-09
120346-03
120467-03
120469-04
120753-02
121012-01
121229-01
121296-01
121453-02
121556-01
121557-01
121558-01
121559-01
118822-26
119596-02
120661-04
118981-02
119130-14
119254-10
119470-06
119578-11

I even tried "patchrm -R /a ######-##" after doing a "boot net", but this
failed to resolve the issue since most of these patches could not be backed
out, for one reason or another. Has anyone else experienced an issue or
narrowed it down further?
