Netra T1 fails to "boot net"

Hi.

I am trying to do a upgrade of a Netra T1 from Solaris 8 to Solaris 9,
so it seemed like a good idea to build a quick jumpstart server (the
servers are about 2,000 miles away, so popping a cd in is a bother).

The Netra has 2 hme's onboard, but neither is connected to a network,
and 1 qfe, with 2 ports connected to the network.

I cannot figure out any way to boot net to the qfe ... is this *possible*?

What really bothers me is that if I just "boot net" (defaults to
/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/network@1,1), I get these messages:

Executing last command: boot net
Boot device: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/network@1,1 File and args:
Evaluating: boot net

Can't open boot device

I was expecting at least the ARP/RARP... messages ... even with the
network cable unconnected.

If I have someone run over and hook up the hme0, should it "boot net" then?

Thanks!
Sam
