Dear managers,
I have /etc/default/login with
PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/apache/bin:/
usr/local/ssl/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/FrontBase/bin:/usr/local/teTeX/
bin:/usr/sfw/bin:/opt/sfw/bin
and /etc/profile with
export LOGNAME PATH
When I telnet to the machine I would expect "echo $PATH" to give me
what I configured in /etc/default/login. However, I get
/usr/bin:/usr/ucb:/etc:.:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/
sbin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/FrontBase/bin
I am puzzled. How exactly does the assignment of PATH for telnet and
ssh sessions work? I never fully got behind that?
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Andreas
