Solaris 9 - syslogd fails to log messages

Hi,

I'm having trouble with two machines, where syslog refuses to log
messages to files.

I've verified the permissions, the syslog.conf file is default solaris
9, I turned on debuging with 1 minute mark intervals and still see
nothing logged to files.

I've also verified the file system has plenty of storage to write to the
file.

Any suggestions?
