hi all
the card is inserted in the slot. the first interface is bge0 which i configured for my local network.
running ifconfig -a shows me there is only one interface, that is
lo0: flags=1000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 8232 index 1
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
bge0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
inet 192.168.2.xxx netmask ffff0000 broadcast 192.168.255.255
ether 0:3:ba:92:62:5d
lo0: flags=2000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6> mtu 8252 index 1
inet6 ::1/128
bge0: flags=2000841<UP,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6> mtu 1500 index 2
ether 0:3:ba:92:62:5d
inet6 fe80::203:baff:fe92:625d/10
running more /etc/path_to_inst |grep net also shows me one interface
"/pci@1c,600000/network@3" 0 "bge"
if i try devfsadm nothing happens
ifconfig bge1 plumb gives me the following error message
ifconfig: SIOCSLIFNAME for ip: bge1: no such interface
i am running Solaris 9 on a Sunfire V250 and all the NIC shipped with the box.
