Hello Sir,
Today Ive got ticket for New installation / Up gradation on development box,
the details are as follows.
Existing environment:
Sun E450 with 6 internal drives each 36GB.
Solaris 2.6 with oracle 7.
First drive is having OS and 2nd and 3rd drives are having data /u01 and /u02 file systems.
Requirement is needs to be upgraded / new installed to Solaris 9 then Oracle 10g, here my responsibility is either up gradation or new installation to be done.
Total data Ive taken Full backup on tape as well as spare drives (5th and 6th)
I decided to go for new installation since the box is development and as per my manager data is not important. After inserting the solaris 9 CDROM into drive when I applied cmd..
OK> boot cdrom
It is not entering to installation process.
Before booting through cdrom Ive done probe-scsi-all and verified the drive status its readable. Still I am not digesting the exact problem.
Any of you face this problem / know the solution please suggest me to proceed.
