Hello Managers

I am Sun Certified System Admn for Solaris 9 & 8. Working for a telecom
company's VOIP division from June 2004. I basically deal with Solaris
8&9 (SPARC & x86) and have Solaris 10 installed on few lab servers.
Apart from this we have few servers installed with Red Hat 8 and
Enterprise version. Now I am planning to attend courses for Cisco stuff.
Here in Toronto there is a college which has four separate courses
designed for CCNA and CCNP. I want to =20
attend one course each at a time and finish the certification
accordingly. Each course is scheduled for Three months and I am NOT AT
ALL bothered about the time. I know about various crash courses and not
really interested in just getting certifications. I want to develop real
time job skills. Fortunately I have experienced CCNP and CCIE (very
friendly) in our team and has got sufficient infrastructure to start my
job. My only idea is to gain experience (as much as possible) in the
coming years with *nix and Cisco technologies. Let us say by the end of
2008 I will be a certified CCNA, CCNP and SCSA for Solaris 10 (I am sure
Sun will come out with Solaris 11 by that time) with REAL PRACTICAL
EXPERIENCE. Will this help me to climb the career ladder? Pl post me
your comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I wish a happy new year to all the folks and their families.

Rao
