Hi,
We have noticed an intermittent ( once or twice in a month) problem of
hanging with one of our V880 Server.
Configuration is 4GB RAM, 2x1.2GHz CPUs, internal 6x73Gb FCAL disk and
external 5x36GB scsi 3310 array, 8GB swap. This server is an oracle server
with 6 instances and average 20-40 people will be working at a time.
During normal operation, system response is very good.
During the above mentioned "hanging" time, we left with the only option of
restarting the system after crashing (stop-A). Cannot execute any commands
at this time which will come out with the error "vfork failed".
We have not done any changes yet to the /etc/system parameters yet.
Waiting for any useful suggestion to come out of behavior.
