Problems with newfs for a 3310

Hello,

I've trouble to get a big 3310 partition to work, i.e. to create the
filesystem on it.
The partition looks like:
*c2t0d0 <SUN-StorEdge3310-0325 cyl 44107 alt 2 hd 255 sec 127>
*

I know that this doesn't work right out o fthe box with newfs. So I used:

mkfs -F ufs /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s1 20985480 127 255 8192 8192 251 1 90 16384
t 0 -1 8 127 n

what results in:
Warning: cylinder groups must have a multiple of 16 cylinders with the given
         parameters
Rounded cgsize up to 256
Warning: insufficient space in super block for
rotational layout tables with nsect 127, ntrack 255, and nrpos 8.
Omitting tables - file system performance may be impaired.
Warning: 8 sector(s) in last cylinder unallocated
/dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s1: 20985472 sectors in 648 cylinders of 255 tracks,
127 sectors
        10246.8MB in 41 cyl groups (16 c/g, 253.01MB/g, 16064 i/g)
super-block backups (for fsck -F ufs -o b=#) at:
 32, 518320, 1036608, 1554896, 2073184, 2591472, 3109760, 3628048, 4146336,
 4664624,
 16066960, 16585248, 17103536, 17621824, 18140112, 18658400, 19176688,
 19694976, 20213264, 20731552

Even not perfect. So I tried some changes on the 3310 itself.:

"view and edit Configuration parameters" -->
"Host-side SCSI Parameters" -->
"Host Cylinder/Head/Sector Mapping Configuration" -->
    "Sector Ranges - 255 Sectors"
    "Head Ranges - 64 Heads"
    "Cylinder Ranges - < 65536 Cylinders"
    Then reset controller.

On server use;
 "format" -> "type" -> "0 Auto configure"
 "label"
 "quit"

Now running newfs is not really better:

newfs -f ufs /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s0
results in:
newfs: bad numeric arg for fragsize: "ufs"

Now I've no idea at all. BTW the Server is a V490 with Solaris 9.

Any glue, idea or anything 'bout this.

Thanx in advance,

Dirk.
