Startup and Shutdown

Hello All,
I am posting this message after exhausting all the search for my question on the web and at lazydba archives. I also understand that this a not a DBA list. Though should give it a try, since it is related to Solaris. Not that I did not find anything, but I found conflicting information. By Far I am not a DBA and my client do not have a DBA
hired yet.

I just want to know where to put startup and shutdown scripts for Oracle 10g in
Solaris 9.

/etc/rc3.d --> For Startup
/etc/rc0.d --> For Shutdown

How should I test it?
I also know that there are services in 10g. Cany anyone of you enlighten me on
what those are in what order those services have to be stopped and started.

My apollogies for such trivial question.
THANKS
