hello all,
i want to upgrade a solaris 9 to 10, but i got:
ERROR: The media cannot be used for the backup because it is being
changed or moved during the upgrade.
Solaris installation program exited.
i have this config:
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 7.7G 5.8G 1.8G 76% /
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 9.6G 1.3G 8.2G 15% /var
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s5 13G 3.9G 9.2G 30% /usr/local
and in profile file, i added:
install_type upgrade
backup_media local_filesystem /usr/local
and,
Mount Point Slice 1 Kilobyte Blocks 1 Kilobyte
Blocks
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
File systems with insufficient space.
/ /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 8193204 9259769
Remaining file systems.
/var /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 10240061 1260868
/usr/local /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s5 14026095 4832822
After rebooting, the space report displayed above will be in
/var/sadm/system/data/upgrade_space_required

ok, it lacks 1Go on / to upgrade without trouble, but why solaris
install need to write on /usr/local? there is nothing form solaris on
/usr/local?
