/usr/local/bin/autoconf: /usr/local/bin/autom4te: not found

Does anyone know of any issues using autoconf-1.9 with solaris 10. I get
"/usr/local/bin/autoconf: /usr/local/bin/autom4te: not found" when trying to
run "make" but if I do a "which autom4te" is says "/usr/local/bin/autom4te".
Any ideas.
