OS question..

Everyone,
I have never done this and I couldn't find anywhere where it said I
couldn't. I am more curious than anything. If I were to dump an entire
filesystem onto tape (i.e. /root, /swap, /usr, /opt, and /extra) and put
in a new (bigger) disk, and boot to CD, recreate the partitions, and do
a ufsrestore of each partition from tape. Would the system come up again
or would I have to do something else ? I do not have a test system to
try this on, so I am looking to see if anyone else out there has done
this before? Or what would be the problem with doing this?
