Dear SUN managers,
Coming to you again with a strange problem and I know
one of you has the answer or a clue.
Environment:
Solaris 8 on a SUN fire v880. Two of them running
SAM-FS 4.0.1 and VCS 2.0. Exporting several file
systems to 5 Linux servers.
Couple of days ago, we upgraded SAM-FS from 3.5 to
4.0.1. Prior to the upgrade everything was fine except
SAM-FS bugs for which SUN advised us to upgrade. We
did the upgrade. Soon after the upgrade, here is what
we are seeing.

We have three SMA-FS filesystem Mercy0, Mercy1 and
Mercy2 exported out to the Linux system ( a total of
22 file systems are exported, only these three show
this behavior). On the main SUN server running SAM-FS,
there is no issue at all as far as the data goes. When
we mount Mercy0, Mercy1 and Mercy2 on the Linux box,
they do get mounted as /mge/Mercy0, /mge/Mercy1 and
/mge/Mercy2. However, all the three file systems point
to Mercy2. Data in all the three is identical to
Mercy2 filesystem!! Other 19 filesystems are fine.

I have checked the share command, the mount command
the /etc/fstab file everything looks fine. I have
several UNIX persons here in our facility that looked
at the files and everything looks good. I even removed
VCS out of the picture and still the problem
persisted. All we did during the upgrade was upgrade
SAM-FS, remove a bunch of unused file systems, and
grow the existing file systems.

We have opened a ticket with SUN and they are looking
at it and they have no clue. If you have any clue as
to what might be happening, please help. Thanks.
