Gigaswift Performance expectations

Hi there,
I have been running some network performance tests between our
15K domains with Gigaswift(ce) NIC's and between the 15K domains
and the backup server (480R).

Software used for the test is java-ttcp (GUI version).

The 15Kdomains and the Backup server are connected to a dedicated
Switched Gigabit
Ethernet Backup network which has no other traffic other than scheduled
backups.
If I snoop on this network outwith the backup window I see almost no
traffic.

I performed the tests outwith the backup window i.e. no traffic on that
network.
While performing the ttcp tests, I am getting the following results.

15K -> 15K (Max speed of 53MB/s)
15K -> 480R (Max speed of 42MB/s)

I am no Networking expert but I would have expected to get closer to
100MB/s when
the network was quiet.

Could anyone explain what may be causing these results and what if
anything we can
do to increase the throughput.

Many thanks.
Paul
