Hi,
We are currently migrating from Sbus to PCI architectures ... We have an
E4500 which has a L280 library attached to it.
When I connect the library to the V440's on-board differential scsi and
reboot, I get Firmware and scsi time-out messages:
LSI1030 MPT Firmware issue-scsi-task-manager
timed out waiting for reply
LSI1030: reset-scsi-bus failed
And it will hang until I disconnect the tape drive.
Our hardware maintenance technician claims that the on-board SCSI is "high
voltage" while the L280 library is
"low voltage" and the twain shall not meet. What we are told is that we
have to purchase LV PCI scsi cards for the V440s
if we want to use the libraries.
Does anyone have any experience in this area, and could possibly give me
some type of workaround ??
Thanks in advance,
Rick Niziak
