v40z internal disk incompatibilities: Fujitsu vs. Seagate

All,

We have recently gotten a set of v40z's. The ship with Fujitsu
drives. part # X9256A has both Fujitsu and Seagate drives under it
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/SunFireV40z/components.html

One of the machines came with a bad drive. We have 'four hour response' on
these things. Sun comes in with a Seagate drive. V40z says
'incompatible'. Sun says Fujitsu will not mirror to Seagate, b/c Seagate
is slightly larger. Sun cannot find Fujitsu drives in 'stock' (however we
did order one of these for a test box v20z in the office, running Solaris
10 x64). Sun says we'll need to _rebuilt_ the box and insert 2 Seagate
drives.

Question 1:
Is Sun out of their mind? Do they not know the systems they built? What if
this was a production box? I would have to waste hours on rebuilding the
box so that they could insert their Seagate drives?

Question 2:
Is there are a fairly simple workaround for this? There has to be.

I am really upset with Sun on this, as this has taken almost 2 weeks now
(remember, we have 4 hour response), and they haven't resolved it yet. We
already escalated the ticket to a Service Manager.. and he has been
'locating' a Fujitsu drive through logistics for over _2_ days now.

Thanks,
Andrey
