Greetings to all,
first I like to introduce me shortly. My name is
Marcel Nebeling, I'm from Germany. I work now with Sun
Solaris (8) for nearly a year and I also had two Sun
Admin Courses. I'm in my trainee year at Siemens,
becoming a Network Administrator. I need to make a
project, which is about jumpstart-servers. I wanted a
full non-interactive installtion. But still I have
some problems. After browsing the net, I haven't found
naything really helpful. So I subscribed and how to
gain more knowledge through your experience ;)
Here's the case:
I have two Sun Fire V100; one is my installserver (the
config and boot server), the other my testclient. I
have created a sysidcfg, a classfile and still I have
problems. When I do the boot from net I see my
testclient is using my sysidcfg but still the
suninstall comes up. I suspect my classfile to have
some problems.
This is the content of the classfile, called
testclient

system_type server
geo N_America
cluster SUNWCXall
partitioning explicit
filesys rootdisk.s0 3000 /
filesys rootdisk.s1 2048 swap
filesys rootdisk.s3 151 unnamed

Now the particular interesting point is, that when I
run the check-script in gerneal everything is fine
according to it. But when I use it to check my
classfile testclient, I get the following feedback:
# ./check -r testsystem
Validating testsystem...
./check: initial_install: not found
Error in file "testsystem", line 1
install_type initial_install
ERROR: Begin script missing:
So it seems that it is having problems with my
classfile, especially the first line. I'm somehow lost
here. I checked books and so on, but can't find my
failure. So I hope you have some ideas.
