mksysb for Solaris?

Hi SUN Managers,

I have a question for all of you. I am responsible for a group of
RS/6000 servers
running AIX, as well as some SPARC IV servers running Solaris. We have
automated
backing up of all of these servers, and then do regular mksysb on the
AIX servers.
This does a backup of the rootVG. But I do not have Veritas for the
SUN/Solaris
servers.

So, the question is, what do people do to prepare for disaster recovery
on their
SUN/Solaris servers? Obviously I could just keep track of slice sizes,
etc. and
then do a dd to tape/DVD of each slice's contents. But it seems like
there might be
an easier/better way to do this?

Anyway, thank you one and all for your input.

Sincerely

John Heiden
