Query Regarding csplit.

Greetings All,

As per the MAN pages of cplit command from "cplit -f prefix Names the created
files prefix00, prefix01, ...,
prefixn. The default is xx00 ... xxn. If the prefix argument would create a
file name exceeding 14 bytes, an error results. In that case, csplit exits
with a
diagnostic message and no files are created."

However in the programs I tested when we create the filenames more than 14
chars,it does not error out and the files were created.

I would like to confirm if the man pages have not been updated or csplit is
supposed to error out for file names whose length > 14.

Please give your outputs.

Thanks & Regards
Rajeev Andrews
