Solaris 9: ps(1), ls(1), any access to /proc hangs

* Solaris 9 system running Siebel/Oracle
* ls(1) hangs with certain directories (Siebel dirs, and /proc/PID dirs)
* ps(1) hangs, as does top, glance (pretty much any program that reads
/proc/*/psinfo)

On one system, the problem "went away". I suspect that Siebel admins
killed and/or restarted the Oracle instance that was hogging resources.

I suspect shared memory is the problem. Has anyone else seen this--and
d'you know which patch(es) to apply? I find several bug reports on
SunSolve, but no patches/workarounds yet.
