 Hi managers,
I need to upgrade a box from Sol7 (11/99) to Sol 8(02/02). System volumes
are controlled by Vxvm 3.1 and one volume controlled by VxFs.
I plan to :
- break the rootdg mirrors (vxmend off rootvol-02)
- hash out vx entries for non system volumes
- remove rootdev and set vxio in /etc/system
- init 6

Q - At this point do I need to remove VxVm or VxFs or both??
- init 6 ..check OK
- init 0....upgrade OS and apply patches

Q - Based on above do I need to reinstall VxVm and VxFS here?
- apply patches
- carry on with Starting Vx daemons etc...
- cp vfstab and system files to orig
- reboot
/dev/vx/dsk/swapvol - - swap - no -
/dev/vx/dsk/rootdg/swapvol01 - - swap - no -
/dev/vx/dsk/rootdg/swapvol02 - - swap - no -
/dev/vx/dsk/rootvol /dev/vx/rdsk/rootvol / ufs 1
no -
/dev/vx/dsk/var /dev/vx/rdsk/var /var ufs 1 no -
/dev/vx/dsk/rootdg/u01 /dev/vx/rdsk/rootdg/u01 /u01 vxfs 3
yes -

Thanks in advance
Alan
