I have a directory of soft links. These links point to various files
throughout the system. I need to make a copy of the files through the
links onto a hard disk. The reason I am going through the links, is that
the links have a specific naming convention that the original files do
not contain. I have used tar with the 'h' flag to make the initial copy,
but the total amount of files copied is 180Gigs.
I would like to use rsync to keep this disk updated, rather than use tar
and have to copy 180GB over-and-over (which is time consuming).
I could RTFM, but I have only a few hours with which to have this
running...
Can anyone give me a hint about the proper flags and syntax I need to
use?
Thanks,
Wes
