SUMMARY: Veritas Disk Failure

Thanks to Bruce and Bhaskara for their suggestion.
Well as it's a striped volume (RAID 0) there was no other option then to
delete and recreate the stripe volume and restore from tape backup and
that was exactly I did and it worked.
As regards email issue the configuration was correct but Veritas didn't
send me an alert while the disk is in FAILING state but it did sent me
an email when disk was actually FAILED.
Thanks Gurus.

My original Question Was:

Hi Gurus,

I have a Bad disk (bad Media) which is running under Veritas Volume
Manager Control (Vxvm 3.2). When I try to copy files from that file
system it give me an I/O error. The volume is Stripe. Is there a way I
can recover the data by just replacing the disk or need to go through a
procedure?

1) Replace a Bad Disk

2) Delete the Stripe Volume

3) Create a new Stripe Volume

4) Restore Data from Backup

Also I had setup a vxvm-recover script to send me an email alert if
there is any failure occurs but it didn't sent me any notification. I am
able to send test email from that box but VXVM didn't sent me any alert.
Is there is any other place I need to setup email notification from
Vxvm?

Below is the output of vxrpint:

below is the snippet of vxvm-recover script:

# start the watch daemon. This sends E-mail to the administrator when

# any problems are found. To change the address used for sending
problem

# reports, change the argument to vxrelocd.

vxrelocd netops@citadon.com &

# to enable hot sparing instead of hot relocation.

# ( comment out vxrelocd before uncommenting vxspare )

Any help/Pointer will be greatly appreciated

Will Summarize.

TIA
