Hi,
I have a strange problem on an E250 Solaris 8 system.
Mail is broken:-
rskelton: mailx Richard.Skelton@Infineon.com
Subject: Test
Test
.
EOT
rskelton: can not chdir(/var/spool/mqueue): Permission denied

If I try this as root:-
root: mailx Richard.Skelton@Infineon.com
Subject: test
Test
.
EOT
root: drop_privileges: setuid(0) succeeded (when it should not):
Operation not permitted

I have checked the package for mailx:-
root: grep "/usr/bin/mailx" /var/sadm/install/contents
/usr/bin/mailx f none 2511 root mail 126880 47389 1003406180 SUNWcsu
root: pkgchk SUNWcsu
ERROR: /usr/share/lib/termcap
file size <136663> expected <137359> actual
file cksum <35225> expected <23929> actual
root: ls -ld /var/spool/mqueue
drwxr-x--- 2 root bin 3072 Jun 13 08:30 /var/spool/mqueue/
root: ls -l /usr/bin/mailx
-r-x--s--x 1 root mail 126880 Oct 18 2001 /usr/bin/mailx*
I also have lots of errors from sendmail in /var/adm/messages:-
Jun 13 13:00:27 brscs04 sendmail[19848]: [ID 801593 mail.crit] NOQUEUE:
SYSERR(cadadm): can not chdir(/var/spool/mqueue): Permission denied

Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem without a re-boot?
