set display on server with no graphics display device

Greetings,

I've got a weird situation here. We've been given this software product
(third party) to run on a sun 280. for some bizarre reason, this product
needs to have the DISPLAY var set to valid X-Server in order to be
started. We are mostly a command line type shop here (telnets and serial
consoles) and very few of our servers have graphics cards so we never
install the X-Server stuff. What we are going to get around this is
connecting to an NT server running an X-server. No windows ever appear,
but the connection apears (seen via a netstat).

Is there any way create a display device that points to /dev/null or
something? All I need is a valid X-Server to make the connection and all
communication can just go away.

        Any comments?

thanks and have a wonderful weekend.

        Paul
