Here is my situation. I have two Sun servers that are hardware load
balanced so they have two nics in each. The nics that are load balanced
share the same IP address and Mac address. The second nic cards are used
for maintenance. My problem is this: I want the maintenance nics to be
able to use a separate gateway from the nics connected to the load balancer.
I am not sure how to accomplish this. Can you have two defaultrouters or
will I have to setup some form of routing? The problem is only one of the
servers outgoing nics works through the gateway (I can ping the gateway with
one server but not the other, Extreme says this is working correctly) so I
want the two maintenance nics to be able to establish the oracle connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
