The answer is still up in the air. According to the responses I've
received, wanting to use a USB mounted CDROM on Solaris 9 is either:
Crazy
Foolhardy
Incredibly Brave
Personally, I'll go for the option that lets me put blue paint on my face
and pretend to be Mel Gibson.
In any event, 14 hours after the message was first sent out, I received my
internal DVD drive from Sun. I am now rokken like Dokken again.
Thanks to all who let me know the whole USB thing probably wouldn't
work. My kids were pleasantly surprised at actually seeing me this month.
