Can't get (even close) to gigabit on Sun servers

Hey everyone,
My fellow sys admins and I have been trying to get our Sun servers to
push past 160Mbits on our Gigabit NICs, and just can't seem to break the
20MB/sec barrier. We are using netcat mainly for testing. We can get
nearly 700Mbits in a memory to memory copy, but just can't get past 160
on real-world tests.

We've got FC disk all around -- those should be able to belt out over
20MB/sec, and all the hardware is V240's or V490's.

We've tried TCP stack tuning, ceX vs. bgeX, cables, etc.

Any thoughts? Pointers to a faq on this topic (despite continuous
googling on our part)?

Thanks much.

-Steve
