Re: DDS3 drive on E250: Where's my rmt?

There's nothing in /dev/rmt/. But I did get the tape to work correctly on
my other E250 with a DDS3 drive. So this one box is probably not
configured correctly or something is wrong with the drive, etc.. Thanks
for the many replies.

Hi Daryl " who doesn't use tape -- at least not yet!" Mitchell :-)

Do: ls /dev/rmt
and see what, if anything, is in there.
Maybe your tape drive is there but something other than /dev/rmt/0
devices.
Mine (not a Sun drive) is /dev/rmt/1 because my autoloader is
/dev/rmt/0smc.

Since mine is an IBM device, I had to get the drivers for it *and*
modify the /kernel/drv/st.conf files (per IBM's instructions).
