Backtesting Java Software on Solaris 10 Question

I am running a third party app on a SunBlade 2500 running Solaris 3/05.
The software runs as a user on a Solaris 8 machine without problem.

The weird thing is if I run this as root the java program will be
successful. Only when I run this as the user on Solaris 10 the java
program will hang upon creation of a socket.

I know this is pretty vague but I cannot provide any more information
since this is a third party app. I have tried troublshooting with the
third party but since it runs as root points to a system issue.

Also, the jre is the same self contained java in both environments.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sonny
