At the momment, I'am desperate to get help on the following issue,
Could you please contact or refer the best resources you have to let
me know the solution.

ISSUE : NSCD consumes a lot of CPU resources even in a NON NIS or LDAP
environment like ours. We use only local authentication. Could you
detail out any implications if I stop NSCD

/etc/init.d/nscd stop

on production systems.

To be more specific, does NSCD cache local UID->Username ; GID->
Groupname mapping e.t.c. We do not use NIS LDAP or any naming service,
default nsswitch.conf file on solaris 8.

If yes, disabling the daemon can have serious implications for our systems.
