Dear Managers:

I would like to be able to see the console output on
the SP of the V20Z server.
Here is what I did:
On the server, I redirect output/input to ttya:
#eeprom output-device=ttya
#eeprom input-device=ttya
and reboot
Then I login to the service processor via the lan
console using "ssh -l root SP_IPaddress"
Once I get into the SP, I issued the sp command:

localhost #platform console <CR>
The SP comes back with the following:
[Enter `Ec?' for help]

but I do not see any console output on the SP
so what am I missing?

also, 2nd question is: can I login to the SP using
telnet instead of the ssh?

Thanks for any suggestion
Tony
ps: the SP has been updated to the latest firmware
(2.1.0.16/BIOS 1.30.5) and the platform is running
Solaris 10 3/05) if it makes any difference
