I only received one response from Christopher McNabb
Chris suggested to use lsof to see whether there are
checkpassword session already run in the system.
I did not find any strayed checkpassword process in
the system though.
I have also run truss and truss does not seem to show
any error message either.
If any one has any additional suggestion, I will be
happy to try.

I have solaris 2.8 running npasswd version 2.05.
Everything looks great except the checkpassword error
message each time user runs checkpassword program.
Here is the error message in messages log:
