Hi everyone.
I have one IBM Shark 2105-F20 ESS (Enterprise Storage Server) with 1,7TB total
raw capacity.
There are 80 logical volumes of 21GB each one (1,7TB/21GB = 80)
That storage use the RAID-5.
My Oracle Applications has 60% read and 40% write.
The performance in the storage is terrible.
The database server is Sun E6500 (24 proc + 24GB RAM) and it is connected to
storage by two gigabit fiber channels using the JNI (FCE-1063 and FC64-1063)
device adapters.
I did the following tests in the storage:
mkfile 2048m test1 (2 min)
cp test1 test2 (5 min)
The storage takes 5 minutes to copy a file with 2GB (6,8MB/s)!?
Is it right?
The RAID-5 is the best configuration to my storage?
Does someone use the IBM Shark 2105-F20?
Please, help me!
Thank you.
