UTMPX Error

Dear Sunmanagers,

I am running Solaris 8 and I receiving the following error when I login into
the system remotely.

login: xxxx
Password: xxxx
No utmpx entry. You must exec "login" from the lowest level "shell".

Does anyone have any ideas? I did a search for utmpx at google and found
something about:
SunSolve's SRDB ID 20768 article entitled "Jumbo Kernel Patch 106541.

I did a search at sunsolve and couldn't find anything. The above info is from
28 Sep 2000, so it is kind of old.
