RE: T3+ is not recognized

Hi,

I got some replies (from Joe Fletcher, Drew Skinner, Suney Sharma and
Neil Quiogue) to try devfsadm, and various forms of luxadm commands.

Furthermore, I was able to do a 'boot -r' on the system, but that didn't
help either.

Now I have a new X6799A card (Qlogic 2200F Single port FC card) that I
can put into the system, but I would like to make sure I am set with the
Driver part first before bringing the system down...

Here's the manual on it:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/data/806/806-7532/pdf/806-7532-10.pdf

Which says I need the "qlc" driver, and it's NOT bundled with Solaris 7.
I have the first two FC-SCSI drivers, but I don't have the 'qlc' driver
on my system:

bash-2.03# pkginfo | grep SUNWfcp
system SUNWfcp Sun FCP SCSI Device Driver
system SUNWfcpx Sun FCP SCSI Device Driver (64-bit)
bash-2.03# pkginfo | grep SUNWfctl
system SUNWfctl Sun Fibre Channel Transport layer
system SUNWfctlx Sun Fibre Channel Transport layer (64 bit)

bash-2.03# pkginfo | grep SUNWqlc

Where can I find this driver (didn't get a CD with the card...)?

Here's a patch that mentions a URL I can download it from but it's
invalid.

Special Install Instructions: -----------------------------

1. Minimum OS requirement: Solaris 7 Update 4

2. To get the qlogic 22xx card support,

    - if base package (SUNWqlc and SUNWqlcx (64bit)) is not already
installed,
install it first, as mentioned in the qlogic 22xx controller
manual.
You can also get the package from the following link:

Does anyone know where I can find this driver?

Thanks,
Anjan

Subject: T3+ is not recognized

Hi,

I am trying to connect a newly configured T3+ to a 220r host (SunOS
hostname 5.7 Generic_106541-21 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60) HBA.

The Array has the volume created, and mounted, and the health of the
array is fine-
<4>vol mode
volume mounted cache mirror
vol-raid5 yes writebehind off

The connection is a mm fiber LC to SC from T3 to HBA. Array is online,
and the connectors fit only one-way, so TX/RX should be fine.

The luxadm command is not finding any enclosures:
# luxadm insert
Please hit <RETURN> when you have finished adding Fibre Channel
Enclosure(s)/Device(s):
Waiting for Loop Initialization to complete...
 No new device(s) were added!!
 No new enclosure(s) were added!!

# format
Searching for disks...done

AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:
       0. c0t0d0 <SUN36G cyl 24620 alt 2 hd 27 sec 107>
          /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/sd@0,0
       1. c0t1d0 <SUN36G cyl 24620 alt 2 hd 27 sec 107>
          /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3/sd@1,0

Is there any troubleshooting/verfication of things i can do before
resorting to a 'boot -r'? This is an online system and i would prefer
not to reboot it if possible.

Thanks!
Anjan
